TEXAS – The 2012 ENERGY STAR sales tax holiday begins Saturday, May 26 and ends Monday, May 28.
The products qualifying for the exemption are:
• Air conditioners priced at $6,000 or less
• Refrigerators priced at $2,000 or less
• Ceiling fans
• Incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs
• Clothes washers*
• Dishwashers
• Dehumidifiers
• Programmable thermostats
Qualifying products will display the ENERGY STAR logo, which may appear on the appliance, the packaging or the Energy Guide label.

Ohio – Upcoming statutory amnesty starting May 1, 2012 through June 15, 2012. Included but not limited to personal income, vendor’s sales, seller’s use, corporate franchise and county and transit authority sales tax. Applicable years will be for taxes due and payable as of May 1, 2011. Penalties will be waived. 50% interest will be waived.
TEXAS – From June 12 through August 17, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts will waive penalties and interest for businesses that file delinquent tax reports and pay all taxes due, or amend reports that underreported taxes and pay the taxes due. Reports originally due before April 1, 2012, are eligible for this limited amnesty.
The amnesty is available for all state and local taxes and fees administered by the Comptroller’s office, with the exception of Public Utility Commission grow receipts assessments.
